GAUTAM BUDDHA GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, DARSHAN NAGAR, AYODHYA 224135
The purpose of higher education is to inculcate values and capabilities and to evolve the student to cater to the needs of the society. Keeping this in view Gautam Buddha Government Degree College, Faizabad was established on September 4, 1997 at the historical city of Faizabad on the auspicious bank of river Saryu in Ayodhya. The college has been involved in maintaining quality education for students at the level of higher education right from its establishment. The two declared mottoes of the college are self respect and self dependence. The college tries its best to produce citizens and active social human beings.
The college is affiliated to Dr Rammanohar Lohia Awadh University, Ayodhya. The University Grants Commission has registered the college under section 12B and 2F which indicates that the college is in a position to maintain higher educational activities at national level. We are in process to evaluate the college by NAAC. No doubt it will be a milestone in the development of the college.
The college runs Bachelor of Arts programme in English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Sociology, Economics, Political Science and Physical Education. Standard teaching by well qualified and experienced teachers is important. All the teachers are permanent faculty selected by the UPPSC, Prayagraj. No doubt, at present, we have limited subject options for students. We are trying our best to get the approval of science and commerce streams with some add-on professional courses, so that the dream of local students can be materialized.
The college has been approved by Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad as a study centre (S1145) from 2016 onward. We are currently running various UG, PG, PG Diploma, Diploma and Certifiate level courses in the different areas of study.
We do have seven teaching and four non-teaching staff at present. It is the matter of immense pleasure that our result of 2016 was 100%.
We invite enthusiastic and study loving students to make a buoyant future from this institution.
